Brilliant, complex. Realistic and hopeful. Langston Hughes's poem is really hard to read because it's so true; yet hope rings out at the end. A fine piece of writing.

Kris, this is the only text I could read in its entirety today and I deeply thank you. I look forward to reading it over and over again in the coming weeks, months and years.

Wow. I am humbled. Your words give me energy to keep going - sometimes when I put so much of myself into a piece of writing and then only get a few ‘likes’ I wonder if I am helping people. So thank you for encouraging me! 💚

Kris, thank you for your powerful words and call to action. Tonight, I am heading out to stand with others for peace, compassion, and inclusion as our local school board faces attacks fueled by fear and division. As a nature-connected coach, I believe deeply in the healing of trauma and the power of kindness to transform hearts and communities. In the face of this uncertainty, I stand rooted in the Earth and aligned with the belief that love and connection can guide us through even the darkest times. Together, we can nurture the seeds of a more compassionate world.

Beautiful, Beth. Standing rooted in the Earth and with love is the most powerful way we can be. Thank you for that AND for going to the Durango school board meeting. I have been watching with horror the Republican attacks on kids' well-being. How did it go???
